Christening tyres.

After the glorious weather of the last few days the morning dawned overcast and damp. The heron by the village pond was too busy fishing to pay more than passing attention to Digby slowly ambling past - a quick flash of an orange eye and then he was head down, grey body merging into the placid stoney water. A graceful miracle of camouflaged harmony. The chill has brought on Digby's arthritis so our progress past the heron on the morning constitutional was conducted at what might best be described as a 'stately' pace. As we entered the final stretch towards home Digby was once again startled by the two cows at the front gate. He passes them every morning but their large , overarching , ever chewing presence is something he clearly prefers not to dwell on. His startled look seems to say : ' what in heavens name is that ? Do something ! '

More workmen arrived yesterday. After six weeks of preparation the kitchen cabinets were finally delivered. Progress at last. The boyz slowly circled the tradesmens vehicles before carefully aiming and christening each separate tyre. Job done to their mutual satisfaction they were able to retreat to the doorstep to mount guard. Despite the presence of new faces Wilf managed to fall sound asleep on his back , tongue protruding from his mouth, snoring gently in the sunshine. Having the boyz around really is like living with two irrepresible clowns.

  2. William Shakespeare said "It is meat and drink to me to see a clown," and you do indeed have two of them! Thank-you for sharing your boyz with us! :-)

  3. As always, I look forward to the boyz - love the upside down, or is that sleeping, shot. And the "circling the vehicles".

    Have a great day.

  4. Oh my gosh! I'm tempted to copy that picture of Wilf and put it on my screensaver! Could he be any cuter?

I hope the weather warms up and dries up a bit for Digby!

  5. Like everyone else, I LOVE that picture of Wilf on his back! He'd have so many tummy tickles if your blogging buddies where there. As for the cows...they too are beautiful and bring back fond memories of my childhood farm. Some of my best buddies were cows! :)
By the way - the Mongeese can wear their summer garb although they might need an umbrella! Who is making the trip?

  6. Gosh, I love your dogs!
I cannot seem to start my day without them.

And Edward is a tyre christener himself!! What IS that?

  7. Love the photo of Wilf on his back, relaxed, at peace amidst all the goings on. My first horse knew everything and was perfect for a novice rider but he did not like sheep. We were riding along a road one day, on the left side (USA) when suddenly, we were on rhe right! Cy was snorting a bit but his move was utterly smooth. Then I saw the sheep. :).
