The telephone call.

Madame Bay telephoned to say she wouldn't be here on Tuesday, as planned, but intended to come on Thursday instead. " I have something important to do M'Ongoose. Something important to do ". The sentence was repeated , slowly, as if she was talking to a small child. Madame Bay has never bothered to inform us of her movements before. Indeed part of Madame Bays charm is the entirely random and unpredictable nature of her appearances. Whatever could have happened ?

An hour later the phone rings again. It's the electrician. Would it be all right if he came along on Wednesday ? "Of course. No problem " I said , trying to hide the sound of euphoria in my voice.

Wilf was in sedentary mode. He spent a couple of hours , before and after lunch, soaking up the sun on the lawn. He then moved inside to catch up on some serious beauty sleep. His motto of the day " Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful ".

  2. Maybe Madame Bay and the electrician have a rendezvous!

Then again, maybe she just wanted to stay home to watch Oprah! :)

  3. Glad to read Wilf's appetite has apparently improved. And now he has electricians to look forward to, assuming they actually show up. We agree with Wilf: we strive for excellence; perfection is God's business.

  4. We are having fun here speculating on what Madame Bay will be up to on Tuesday. Can we look forward to reading about a new outfit, perhaps?
    Cheers!

  10. Soaking up the sunshine and saving it for a rainy day makes good sense to us. If I were to lie in my yard for several hours I would be a frozen corpse. Enjoy it if you have it sweet Wilf, you deserve all the great things in life.

  12. Pick up the next issue of Paris Match. I have a feeling we'll see photos of a tete-a-tete with Mme Bay and Carla Bruni.

  13. I think that Wilf should write a philosophy book. It would be a classic, guiding the lives of people all over the world.

The bed head is indeed astounding!

So a bad hair day = a sedentary day = an electrician. I hope the sparkly man has the energy to get something done:)

  17. Mysteries abound. Will the electrician come as he said he would? Will Madame Bay reveal important what was so important? How does the framboise color on the kitchen wall look after a second coat? Have the bees frozen? Has an intrepid soul been found to remove the clock-stopping impediment?

But most of all, sweet Wilf, do you know how adorable you look with your bedhead? And do you know how much we all love you and wish you well?

  23. Perhaps Madame Bay is taking a brief trip through the stars with those aliens that are so popular in your area! :P That or she's got a surprise for you.

Those pictures of Wilf are cracking me up! I feel pretty much like he looks this week.

I wonder if that means this Wednesday, or some other as yet undetermined Wednesday in the near or distant future...
