Doing what PON's do best.

Wilf is not only Digby's big brother he is also his best friend. Sunday was spent with the two boyz taking relaxation to a new level - their entire morning from breakfast onwards was spent basking in the sun and duo-barking at the woodpeckers working away in the oak trees. When not barking at the birds Digby was on cloud nine. He lay curled up, mouth open, snoring away, his head resting on the warm cushion of Wilfs back - everything about him told you he was relishing the total safety and security of having a big brother . Even the arrival of lunch guests didn't cause the two of them to stir from their favoured spot. After the manic hyper-activity of puppyhood the two of them have now settled down into a time of gentle self-confidence. We enjoy this new stage in their lives every bit as much as they do.

  2. I believe that some Psychologists (not doggie psychologists) might regard this phase as 'wisdom'...the time of your life when you look back and are pleased with what you have accomplished. A time when you have resolved your hangups and celebrate both what you have accomplished and not-accomplished. Dogs have a natural way of demonstrating this trait. They always do demonstrate things so much simply.

  4. I could that! And I'm ready for Tootie to try it, too. She's my five month old Yorkshire Terrier with lots of energy and lots of sharp puppy teeth. Now if I could just find a spot of sun...

  5. I understand exactly what you're saying - that simple act of relaxing and being calm is so wonderful. And, it must be heart-warming that the two are such close friends.
