We keep the hair over Wilfs eyes trimmed short. More purist PON owners decry this short style but we've found that it helps him avoid difficult obstacles like walls , gates or furniture that he would otherwise miss in his irrepresible enthusiasm to get from point A to point B. However, some mornings you just have to look at him and wonder if there's anything - anything at all - to stop him having a bad hair day. Today is shaping up to be one of those no nonsense frumpy hair days.
Now you're causing me to have second thoughts about trimming! I had actually sought out your blog again in April, as I remembered finding it last year while doing a search for pictures of clipped PONs. I stumbled into the sad story of poor Digby's illness, and am now quite hooked by the daily drama of how Wilf is doing in the aftermath and whether you will, in fact, get a puppy. Your life in France is very far from mine in central Tokyo, but the dogs are very much the same! We are just heading into the hot humid rainy season here and I have been thinking we've just got to clip our Cherry this year - I even took some photos of Wilf at the winery home to show my husband last week - but then, these pictures!!
ReplyDeleteIn any event, thanks very much for giving me something to look forward to each afternoon!
Maybe no one will notice. Or Madame Bay could lend him one of her turbans.

OMD I love that first photo. Is Wilf sporting "product" in his hair in that shot? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love that Albert Einstein look.
ReplyDeleteI find there is something so endearing about a dog like Wilf having a bad hair day, it makes him utterly irrestable!
ReplyDeleteAh, Petey too wakes up most mornings with a serious case of behead! I do think Wilf looks like the fifth Beatle in the last two shots.
ReplyDeleteLooks like mine !!!!

I'm guessing Wilf prefers function over fashion. He's cute no matter what.
ReplyDeleteTee hee! He looks so cute, though! Get him a little hair gel and he can pass for a rock star!
ReplyDeleteI actually shrieked when I saw the first picture of Wilf, thinking electricity in the air had caused his hair to stand on end!
ReplyDeleteBut bad hair day or not, he is so dear that I just want to reach through the computer screen and scritch him.
If PON puppies are even cuter than adult PONs, we're in for BIG trouble.
xx Joan
Love that hair. It makes me laugh.

No bad hair day for you, my friend....you look great!
ReplyDeleteFor a poodle, our Ginger has really bad hair days too, I don't know why.
ReplyDeleteRegarding a post or two below this one, I too have been thinking of getting a bicycle. I don't dare mention this to my husband because he would have me get one with all the bells and whistles and exhaust me with arguments thereon, when all I really want is a simple bike with a basket on it. No gears, no batteries, no speeds, just something to tool around in from A to B. I might wander over and chat with the local experts at our nearby bicycle shop.
I still like the spikey look

ReplyDeleteDon't you let them be telling you all this rubbish about 'Bad Hair Day'. You look perfectly fine to me. I think you have a creative and individualistic streak and if this is reflected in your wayward hair, then it's a Good Thing!
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Our groomer will trim Edward's "fringe" for free. Just to stop me from doing it. But it grows so fast, sometimes I just have to. We know all about bad hair days here.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, my own hairdresser tells me the same thing. He'll do my bangs for free. I must be really bad at this.
I think he looks great in ALL the pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteYesterday I thought my hair looked horrible. It was very flat on top and the rest of it just flipped out every which way except for the one that I wanted it to, even after blow drying it. Then yesterday evening I went to a meeting and someone complimented me on it, asking what I had done differently with it. I think she must need glasses!
ReplyDeleteI love Wilf's bad hair days. So cute! That top picture makes him look like a rock star!
He's the cutest little Walter Mathau I ever did see!
ReplyDeleteLiz
We think you look just fine Wilf, what's all the fuss about?

If this was the 1960's wilf would be the coolest dude around...( well he is anyway isn't he?)..I must confess to being slightly obessed by your builders..does the morose lad in the blue bib overalls ever smile...or wear anything else but blue bibbed overalls...i know I must get out more..x
ReplyDeleteOh, he looks great no matter what his hair is up to. He's so cute. A bad hair day just makes him look a little surprised is all.
ReplyDeletewags, Lola
Uhm, possibly a little dab of hair gel might work☺
ReplyDeletei, for one, love wilf's bad hair days. :)
