Newark or Philly, Menlo Park or Palo Alto?

A hot Monday afternoon in August and the locals were holding the annual dog show. Lots and lots of Griffon de Gascogne and Pyrennean mountain dogs. Wilf watched the proceedings with interest but remained close to 'the fonts' right leg throughout. It was engaging but not enjoyable. Too many cages full of over stressed puppies biting their paws or scratching their ears repetitively. Were the sellers well meaning locals or puppy farmers ?

Sorry not to have been replying to your recent comments . The new semester is on the horizon and all of a sudden the house is a mass of activity and I mean a mass of activity . All those things that were put off, and off, can't be put off any longer. Hectic calls to airlines to book tickets . Heated discussions over whether Philly or Newark is closer to Princeton. Long conversations with educational bureaucrats - ' No, we sent of the cheque for the parking permit a month ago'. Does it take less time to get from Menlo Park or Palo Alto onto campus ? In a week it will all be history and the rickety old farmhouse will be at peace. Wilf, God bless him, is oblivious to it all. He's spending his days dreaming of sausages and cheese.

  1. My dogness. Your family certainly covers a lot of the globe doesn't it? You have two in school in the US and each on opposite sides of it to boot? I imagine Wilf will miss having them home when they go back, but you and he have your routines down just perfectly now, don't you? I think Wilf is pretty smart to stay close to his humans when he sees a lot of doggies behind bars. It must look pretty bad from his point of view.

  2. Coast to coast college bound kids, no wonder you are busy! Wilf will certainly miss them when they are back in school.

PeeS It makes me so sad to see pups like that, I can understand Wilf's need to stay close to you.

  3. Aww! I hate to see an event where the dogs all look so stressed! I wonder if Wilf had a moment of gladness that he got the lot in life that he did.

Good heaven! That is a lot of stress and planning! I live too far away to be of any help as to what's shorter, but I wish them well in their travels!

  4. Newark is closer (plus you can catch a train from there directly to Princeton). Does this mean the great debate about the A&F greeter career has come to a conclusion? Having just spotted Wilf Hall on the NYU campus, perhaps the mongoslings should consider a transfer? Clearly a place of the highest learning and PONtification!

  5. Wilf is one lucky pup - a rickety old farmhouse, swing bopping and rug surfing is all it takes to make him happy. That and being with his peeps.

  7. None of those dogs look very happy. Poor things! I don't blame Wilf for sticking to the font.

  9. Sometimes it is best to spend your days dreaming of sausages and cheese while your world spins around you!
