Seldom dissatisfied .

Four thirty in the morning . ' The font ' on the first flight to London . The car finally packed , engine running , waiting outside the front door. Wilf remains immovable. Completely uncoaxable . All the usual words -  ' Breakfast, croissant, treats ! ' - ignored . The old fellows firmly wrapped in his pre-dawn  ' cloak of invisibility ' . In the end he's picked up, bed and all , and deposited in the back of the car .

At the airport Angus stops off at the cafe . Early morning travellers scurrying through the car park on their way to the check-in desks pass a small  dishevelled polar bear and a strange foreigner. They're sharing a  croissant  . Old PON's know : " A dog owns nothing , yet is seldom dissatisfied ''.

  1. I'm with Wilf. 4:30AM should be removed from all clocks.

  2. I respectfully disagree with the Old Pon. A dog owns something after all, his family's heart and the loyalty of all who love him.

  4. Wilf once again displays his wisdom. At four thirty in the morning is one is entitled to stay in bed!

  5. Wise words.

Hope the Cash & Carry has coconut ice cream, so Wilf doesn't miss out.

  7. Ugh! 4:30 am. I would not want to get up either, not even for a delicious croissant. But I am sure Wilf forgave you and ate his croissant so you would not feel too badly.

  8. Oh, I love this, "in the end he's picked up, bed and all, and deposited in the back of the car." I have a Wheaten and it's almost eight in the morning here but she's still in bed. On her back, legs straight up in the air - these fluffy animals need their beauty rest, apparently.

  10. The whole world could learn MUCH from an old PON. Lucky us who get to read Wilf's ponderings...we DO learn much. {hug} for Wilf...

  11. Gotta love those red eye flights! What a cute picture you portray of picking up Wilf, bed and all, to be placed in the back of the car. One must do what one has to! Good boy Wilf, cloak of invisibility and all! Keep on going Wilf, darling, clever boy!

  13. Oh, how well we know those 4 am mornings to catch an early flight! Why one is expected tomorrow for husband's trip to San Juan, preceded by a 30-minute drive to Miami.

Our Boyz do consent to a potty walk in the dark before his departure; but then they haven't as yet been blessed with the Old PON's store of wisdom and smart choices!

I guess the menu while the font is gone will be a bit different...

  15. I must agree with Ina in Alaska who said that a dog owns his families heart and the loyalty of all who love him. I'd like to add onto that a huge basket of squeaky dog toys which only my girl Stella is allowed to play with!

    Cheers,

  16. Glad to hear that Wilf is doing fine after your worries a few days ago. You are so right. We are the worriers, and the dogs live without worries.

  20. Wilf is so adorable, all shaggy hair and a big black nose. My day just isn't right until I have found out that he is ok.
