Restored .

Off to Toulouse airport to collect ' the font ' . Wilf does his welcome home dance in the arrivals hall . He circles round three times to the right before reversing direction and circling round three times to the left . He finishes off by repeating the original movement before flipping indecorously onto his back.

He always used to be the strong, silent type of dog , content to leave the histrionics to his little brother . No longer . The welcome home was accompanied by a range of feline like noises spanning at least three octaves. A tall man in a black suit , standing waiting for his family , laughs aloud and says " someone's pleased to see you ! " .

Stop off en route to buy wine and have a coffee at the cafe . The statue on the war memorial has come back after being cleaned . The town council had the bright idea of painting it . This was a mistake . The colours ran . It has now been restored to its natural state although the stonework seems to have been treated with a high gloss varnish which make it look as though it's made of Play Doh .

Wilf has a sliver of croissant . Normal service restored .
One content boy . As he knows : Every day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending .

  1. If you don't give Wilf his own entire croissant pretty soon instead of a sliver, I'm gonna have to come to France and give you a stern talking to!

  3. Ah Wilf, 'the font's in her kitchen and all's well with the world.

    Toodle pip!

PS Gail says apologies to 'the Font' if Bertie's comment seems just a wee bit non-PC.

  5. It is so nice to have a doggy welcome when you have been away. I only ever had a problem when I owned a Great Dane and he wanted to jump all over me!!!! Diane

  7. It sounds like Wilf was overjoyed to see the font! I had fun imagining the 3-octaves of song that he caterwauled!

  9. That is the face of one happy dog! I truly believe that all is right in his world right now. :) How happy he must be to have his flock all together again!

I like the statue, but as an expert in the art of Play Doh, I think it looks more like shellac! :P

  11. Wilf is so easy to please, his Mom, his Dad and his favorite comfort food all in one place, big tongue hanging out and all is "right" with the world.

  14. Sounds like all is right in Wilf's world again. We're sure the font is happy to be home again to prepare tasty dishes for such a precious boy. Love the second photo of Wilf's trusting gaze.

  15. To the font,
Your goddaughter and the Professor send greetings from the far remote corners of Northeastern Appalachia. Please give Wilf a hug a kiss and a biscuit from us.
    Thinking of you...
