Black leotards .

Into town to buy flowers. The florists one of those modern, minimalist, places. Under the tastefully subdued lighting the three shop assistants are wearing what appear to be black leotards. An impenetrable mass of monochrome bamboo on display inside. Outside , an array of bulbs nestling in straw wrapped pots . When did florists stop selling flowers ? Another sign of advancing age .

Flowerless , Wilf and Angus pop into a local cafe for a coffee and a bowl of water . The cafe dog , a sweet tempered and very arthritic old thing , pops out from behind the counter to look at Wilf . Silently she stands and stares - besotted . Sadly, Wilf is quite oblivious to her presence . The lady behind the cash till and Angus both laugh . The interactions only dog owners see . You're never alone when you travel with a dog .

  1. So true. Often people only recognise us....not HER.

  2. She looks to be a very sweet girl. It would be nice for Wilf to have a canine friend. I always thinks it is sort of sad for them never to be in the company of their own kind.
It's easy to be besotted with Wilf. We all are!

  3. What a sweet little dog! She is obviously shy! :) Wilf looks sad that there are no flowers to grace your table. Perhaps back to the bakery for another cake? Cake instead of flowers sounds like a good idea to us! Keep on going Wilf!

  5. I didn't know that word "besotted", it is so cute ! In french, we will say that we have "le béguin" for Wilf (to have a crush on Wilfee).
Muscaries were lovely, Angus, i am pretty sure the Font should have been (not sure for the grammar...)pleased to receive them.
Bon Dimanche à vous trois. De doux baisers à mon Wilfee préféré.

  6. Even though the florist wasn't selling flowers, the display you show made me go "wow" - spring is on the way. Dear Wilf - garnering admiration from the ladies wherever he goes!

  9. i love when you travel with wilfee. he's such a great little companion. and you take such neat pictures to share with us.
i'm like winchester whisperer... i don't know why on earth the blogger bunch keep tweaking their product... now whatever they've done, on my favorite blogs like yours, if you try to comment or go to another post within the blog, the whole screen goes blank and you have to get completely out. then on some days... it works. so glad! sorry to rant. but those of you with wonderful blogs like this one might need to know what's happening to your followers? it's really so strange. the blogger group much just like to tinker.
give my beloved wee bear a hug!

  12. I had to grin about the florist--You might want to try a gas station, I noticed the other day that a couple of the local ones here have started to sell flowers, who would have thought?

I hope your day was an enjoyable one!

  13. Oh so true - I'd amend it to say that you're never alone when you're with a dog.

  14. Modern minimalist florists? Who'd have thunk it? I admit, I'm more a fan of old-fashioned, showy arrangements.

I love how dogs make friends of strangers with just a glance or gesture!
