Idaho must wait .

The good news : It's getting warmer . Above freezing for the first time in ten days.

The bad news : It's snowing again . Heavily .

Open the door for Wilfs five am pit stop . The old fellow disappears nose first into a snow drift . Dog and owner then disagree over whether this is a good time to go for a walk . Dog thinks it is , owner dressed in dressing gown and slippers doesn't . Owner finally wins. Dog , after rolling in the snow, gives owner a ' keep your hair on ' look and comes back indoors.

Angus is supposed to fly to London this morning to welcome the new tenants into the flat and sign the rental agreement . An American couple from Idaho . Something to do with potatoes . In Europe for a year to visit the Olympics and ' take in ' the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations . Toulouse airport is of course closed by the snow. A morning spent calling the airline, the realtors and the wannabe tenants awaits . Bet things work in Idaho when it snows.

  1. I think a dressing gown, the lemonlulu hat (whatever that is) and a pair of wellies, and you'll be just fine for the midnight dog walks. Come to think of it, you could dress like that all day, surely no more outlandish than the farmer and Mme Bay's customary get ups. (But maybe change before you meet the new London tenants...)

  3. We agree with Bertie and Gail! Glad Wilf got in a bit of snow rolling, though.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

Sydney has been having storms, hail and flooding.....guess your ex-tenant isn't bored.

  4. Yes, they do know how to handle snow in Idaho, but then it's not half the beautiful place that is France Profonde, although Wilf would probably feel right at home in the winter there. Sending warm thoughts your way.

  5. You're right about the snow in 'the west.' My first year of college was in Idaho, and as you may recall we lived in Alaska for about 10 years. When you get a lot of snow in places like that, you just leave for work a few minutes earlier to get there on time.

  9. I'm pretty sure things do work in Idaho when it snows, but I'm betting they understand!

Poor Wilf! Denied his snowy constitutional! I'm sure he'll get over it, though! :)

  10. The sort of snow you are experiencing would not faze the hearty Idaho Potato Couple. Hope they have an enjoyable time in London taking in the festivities. Be sure to check for cracks in the egg cups and Champagne flutes.

And Wilf is right! Any time is fun to plow head first into snow. We had another storm last night as well in ANC.

  11. Indeed - this snow is normal for Idaho - and then some. The snow we had yesterday is now melting :(. The dogs are happy but then, they are not PONs and certainly not Wilf! Have a good day - hope you are able to meet your new tenants soon.

  12. our wonderland of snow melted within 8 hours. but it was beautiful! oh to be in londontown. my brother and i walked all over the "cities" and parks while my poor sister-in-law was working all day at the embassy. but they then enjoyed the evenings together out, while i watched the telly or read in our flat. grand memories.
you need warm long flannels and furry slipper boots for those nocturnal pon walks! at least he got a roll in the snow!
hope the next day doesn't bring the chilled trembling again.
    love from the prairie profonde!

  13. We here in the middle of Canada are due for a bit of snow this evening, but nothing compared to what you have got! Idaho knows snow, to be sure. Fingers crossed you get to your destination. Wilf sure does know how to have a good time at 0500!! Keep on going Wilf!

With love from your Canadian pals,

  15. We are sunny and 21C/70F and have never been to Idaho. But from what we know about it's residents (several having vacation homes in our community), they tend to be unfussy, unpretentious and unaffected. A nice change from your last tenant.
That second photo of Wilf is a Valentines Day treat! Happy day to you and yours. Kisses for Wilf.
