Unheard sounds .
To the airport with ' the font ' . The lawyers insist that the rental agreement with the folk from Boise be signed and witnessed in London .
On the way back home Angus makes a quick detour to McDonalds with Wilf. This being a French McDonalds there are macaroons . Angus chooses a Brownie . Wilf gets a wholemeal muffin and a bowl of water . Wilf then falls asleep on his side under the table. This early in the morning the McDonalds is empty so it is only Angus, the waitress, and the two young men behind the counter who hear Wilfs snoring .
Wilfs hair is plastered down where he's been asleep. '' You're looking a bit squiffy today " I say while lifting a small , somewhat disheveled , polar bear into the back of the car . Wilfs face seems to say ' If a man points at the moon, an idiot will look at the finger ' . His Thursday morning PONder .

I see that one definition of squiffy is 'slightly lopsided'. I like to think that's how I would be described. :)
ReplyDeleteEven McDonalds looks classier in France.
ReplyDeleteWilf got to go into McDonalds????
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
My hair looks like that after a snooze too. Sounds like a good little treat for the two boys.

It's easy to tell that 'the font' is out of town--You started your day with a brownie! :-)
ReplyDeleteMmmmh, everything look so yummy ! Even the brownie, and i ate chocolate !
ReplyDeleteOnly a muffin for Wilfee, no macaroons ?
I wish you two, a wonderful Thursday. Enjoy it.
Please Angus, give lots and lots of kisses to the beloved Wilfee for me.
that's a nice MDonalds....wilf is such a lucky boy to be able to go everywhere !
ReplyDeleteLove the quote!
xoxo
Ah dear Wilf - this may be our favorite "PONder" so far. Brilliant. And the word for the day is absolutely going to be squiffy!
ReplyDeleteArrrooo!
BuzzyMcDuff & the Pip
Ha ha! So very true!
ReplyDeleteI have a very good friend in Sweden who was talking about going out to McDonald's like it was a luxury trip. I kept thinking about the McD's here in the States and feeling rather puzzled. Now I think I understand! We are totally getting the short end of the stick here at McDonald's! Brownies drizzled with chocolate sauce? All we get is Shamrock Shakes!
So, while the "font" is away, the boys will have brownies and macaroons... and forget about cauliflower bouillon and laxative salts???
ReplyDeleteHave a squiffy day!!!
Joan
McAroons!!
ReplyDeletelaughing! loving my boys at micky d's.
ReplyDeleteworld famous wilfee under the table snoring. priceless.
i love your life. i love mine too. but yours is just so...

I like your Mcds too. Wilf, I look squiffy every day. We're starting a trend.
ReplyDeleteHow do they compare with Laduree?
ReplyDeleteEverything is plastic at micky ds in CA.
ReplyDeleteI had heard how McDonald's adapted itself to France but not seen it till today - wow. We need some "upscale" Mickey D's here in the States. I am always impressed at Wilf's access to restaurants, everywhere! So much more reasonable - even if snoring and squiffy.
ReplyDeleteNow you have got our noses out of joint with your snazzy MickeyD's! Who do we see about this??? Just a darn shame thats what that is that USA people have to have 2nd, 3rd or 4th rate McDonalds while you are dining, WITH YOUR DOG in tow.
ReplyDeleteJo, Stella and Zkhat
Squiffy AND handsome! Nice little treat for the wee boy! Your McCafe looks grander than ours here on the prairies, I must say! Keep on going Wilf!
ReplyDeleteWith love from your Canadian pals,
Dianna along with Tor, Willow and Tucker
Freya has just fallen off of my lap, I have fallen off of my chair laughing...........................
ReplyDelete:-) X LOV's :-) xxx
I was shocked to read of a waitress in McDonald's. I haven't been in one in many years - maybe we now have waitresses here or maybe it's a French thing! I love the vision of Wilf snoring in a McDonalds!
ReplyDeleteYou asked at my blog about whether K is almost finished with chemo. She's not. Tomorrow will be her third treatment but she gets a total of six. I'm amazed by how well she's been tolerating it.
Who cares about the hair - he got some great noms!
ReplyDeleteYour McDonald's are much different than what we have here in the US. I wish we had macaroons look good! Ours don't have waiters either.
ReplyDeleteWilf always looks good!
