Three and one .

Yesterday a foot of snow falls. Overnight it freezes. Wilf , happy as a lamb, ventures out of the front gate. He soon finds his Monday morning walk to be more challenging than he'd imagined . Arthritic legs and slippery surfaces making an unhappy combination . Three legs turn right. One turns left . A quick visit to the fire hydrant and he ventures , slowly , home . Small steps. One paw carefully placed in front of the other . Canine concentration at work .

Buttered toast for breakfast then a doze in front of the fire . An old PON's snowy start to the week here in deepest France Profonde .

  3. Stay warm and have a rest today, Wilfie Pon and enjoy the snow from the window! Make plans for tomorrow. Imagine all those christenings! Merlin was attached to his own weight in snow balls yesterday by the time he came home which took a bath full of water to melt off. Sending you distance kisses fluffy boy and have a lovely day xx

  7. Wow, a foot of snow? Has Wilfie seen that much since you moved from Scotland? Did he see that much in Scotland?

  8. Your house looks so lovely in the snow. It's a perfect day for some very special photos of Wilf. He is in his element and the soft grays and browns only enhance his natural beauty. Love and a roaring fire to you.

  9. Your town looks so peaceful in those pictures. I love that Wilf is standing in the middle of the road (or so it looks in the pictures) and there isn't a vehicle in site.

  11. Ah, Wilfee, it looks like you have more snow than we do! Usually by the start of February we are up to our knees or deeper in the stuff. Now, just barely covering the ground, and often, not.

I am told by people older than I that this kind of winter has been here before, but not to my recollection. Strange, indeed.

    Cheers,
    Jo, Stella and Zkhat
