Keeping watch .

Christmas morning . Turkey in the oven. Coffee brewing noisily on the stove . Croissants on the table . The first sounds of family stirring . Down by the front door an old sheepdog snores gently away . The special contentment of knowing that while the world slept , he kept watch .

A very merry Christmas to one and all from deepest France Profonde. .

  1. How beautiful Wilf looks by the tree this morning. No doubt much of his time will be taken up by keeping a close eye on proceedings in the kitchen today. Merlin and I wish you all a lovely Christmas day. As ever I send distance kisses for that delicious nose x

  14. The tree is lit, the dishwasher running, the remains of last night's gathering of friends slowly being put away, Petey—a big "hung over" from greeting guests and eating holiday treat, is nestled into the velvet duvet and snoring gently.

Merry Christmas from Manhatan and many thanks for the gift of your blog that you bestow on us loyal readers each day...

  19. Forever the family fellow. We send our love and best wishes to you and yours for the happiest Christmas ever. The tempting scent of roasting turkey must be so delightful for our boy. My cats seem to be interested in the bread sauce, can you imagine. Thank you, again, for sharing Wilf with us.
