Gratitude.
15 months since we saw the ultrasounds and were given the diagnosis that Wilf had 3 days to live . An unexpected milestone on his journey . Fifteen months of extra laughter - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week . Quality PON time . The value of good, caring vets and modern medicine never to be underestimated . Simple dog owner gratitude.
After our morning trip to the cafe and the bakers Wilf's ready for another long walk in the sunshine . We stride off down the valley . By my side a small white polar bear who lives by the rule - " exude happiness and you will feel it back a thousand times " . Wilf beams. Angus whistles.

ReplyDeleteSo much to be grateful for.
ReplyDeleteYes, let's hear it for caring vets and modern medicine. (And loving owners). Hooray!

Love the photo of the 'sun worshipping' Wilf. Here's to many more months. One of life's little miracles.

Dogs have attitudes too. Wilf and his owner have a positive one. I am sure that has a lot to do with it. That and love and care. Bonne journée.
ReplyDeleteIt's said that 'gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.' I totally agree with that because you and Wilf have shown and lived that each and every day for the past 15 months.
ReplyDeleteI join into the thoughts of gratefulness - what a special polar bear - wishing you endless days of laughter and walks... love Susanne, Daisy, Foxiie and Kiri-Tiger (2Kg)
ReplyDeleteNever believe a doctor/vet. Please give W a macaroon from me
ReplyDeleteWe are smiling.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Love,
Janelle, Maggie Mae and Max
Miracles happen every day, and we're often blind to them. I love the image of Wilf snuffling through the grass, oblivious to things like doctor's predictions! It looks like Spring in your corner of the world.
ReplyDelete...and the love radiates around the world...such a powerful little dog. He makes my heart light.
ReplyDeleteSo heartwarming to read Wilf is holding on. Myra, our chocolate lab, lost her battle a few months ago. Reading about Wilf makes me smile every morning, I hope to read many more! Nicole G-Belgium
ReplyDeleteThe value of a loving, caring family who will go to the ends of the earth to make it right for you should never be discounted either,
ReplyDeleteThe vets gave him treatment, you gave him life.
And we are so grateful.
So richly deserved..on both sides. You have each earned the spoils of this war! Here's wishing you many more golden days whether they are in the rain, snow, or in full sun...DBH
ReplyDeleteYou've given us 15 months of joy and let us see a miracle every day!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh - the power of positive attitudes and excellent care work such miracles. We're so grateful too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures. I love the picture of Wilf looking up in the sunshine.
ReplyDeleteWonderful quality death-defying PON time for all of us to enjoy. Mr. O and I are smiling.
I don't comment regularly, but a friend sent me here right at a year ago when our basset lost her left eye to glaucoma. You and Wilf inspire us daily. Thank you.
ReplyDeletewriting this through shining tears of happy.
ReplyDeletelove is the most powerful force on this planet.
you have proven that in the last 15 months... both wilf and his angus... and the beautiful font, whose love and cuisine makes each day worth living!
love to you special three in france profonde.

and perhaps the vet's kiss on his sweet head did as much as the modern medicine... who knows?
love, love this post - we are so happy you have included us all in wilf's journeys!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angus, for sharing with us these 15 months of Wilfee's life.
ReplyDeleteEach morning, my first option when opening the computer, is to read your post, and to give a virtual kiss on Wilfee's lovely head.
I just pray each day for doing it, many other days.
Bisous mon tendre Wilfee. Amitiés à vous, Angus and Lady Font.
And I am sure that all of us who are following Wilf on his journey are filled with gratitude as well. For you and 'the font' for allowing us in your lives to see and hear about Wilf's adventures. We too are filled with gratitude. This post just made my day. Keep on going Wilf, lovely boy!
