Swedish cuisine time .

The security staff at Toulouse airport stop Angus for enhanced screening. They always stop Angus for enhanced screening. A 100% hit rate . Perhaps if he wore a ' Death to America ' t-shirt instead of a suit and tie things might proceed more smoothly. He sensibly keeps this thought to himself as the doughnut shaped wand of shame is brought out and waved over him . Age has taught Angus that humour and airport security staff are best kept well separated . The gentleman with the peroxide perm , the diamond nose stud and the doughnut wand seems particularly humourless . " It's for your own protection and that of other passengers " he informs me with a curtness honed by extreme boredom. Was life always ruled by people with authority but no responsibility?

Wilf has none of these worries. In my absence it's Swedish cuisine time . Fish, fish and more fish . Some of it air dried . Riz au homard for lunch , filet de bar roti au parme et aux figues for dinner . A little mackerel with his kibbles. A late morning walk round the Friday market with ' the font '. A sliver of goats cheese from the lady at the fromagerie . Afterwards ample opportunity to christen a few car tyres . Tired out and full , he sleeps uninterruptedly through the night . As old PON's instinctively know : " Arrange whatever pieces come your way " .

  1. If you are a Golden Retriever arranging whatever comes your way equates to getting your ducks in a row, only the ducks that land in my back yard don't stay there long enough for me.

    Sending woofs to Wilf.

  2. SHE saw loads of fish air drying in Norway. Wondered what it was for. Must be Christmas in Sweden. SHE always gets the wand, comes from travelling solo and not taking loads of luggage, we think. Last time it was the x-ray thing.

    Ah the fun of travel.

We love fish, so we think we'd like dried fish. Sardines and salmon is about the extent of our sea food treats.

  4. i just felt in my bones you'd be having to travel and meet with the suits!!
but at least wilfee sounds as though he's making it through okay. fish and the font's love must be doing the trick!
except... catch the look in this eyes in the first picture. that's the look when you're gone!
safe and good trip wishes to you.
and if you're already back? yay!!!

  5. Blessed sleep! Uninterrupted! Restorative. Hope a wonderful day follows. Lovely photos of Wilf. Thanks.
Women are chosen to be scanned more frequently then men and attractive women most frequently. It is suggested that Angus queue up behind two young, curvy Hollywood types and then let's see if his hit rate holds.

  6. I myself received a wee bit more than the wand of shame a couple of months ago in Boston's Logan. Frisking was involved. Quite the experience.

  10. Ah, my family background is Danish and I'm from Minnesota- the capitol of all things Scandinavian in the US. Grew up with lutefisk and a Danish chicken soup with dumplings (similar to matzo balls).
The 'font's fish sounds tempting; Wilf's good night sleep after a day of exercise better still...blessings to all.
Flying is so boring these days :(. None of those wands are "magic."

  11. Sometimes I think we've just become too high tech for our own good! Hopefully the trip went well after the screening. Have you considered wearing your kilt the next time you go on the plane? Perhaps they'd decide you were trustworthy then...

Wilf has the right idea, living life to the best!

Where was the first picture taken? That's quite the festive scene!

  13. My husband ALWAYS get the wand of shame...you'd think him being in the Canadian Military and looking the part, he would not be considered low, medium or high risk. But he always beeps and then gets the wand. We feel your pain! Wilf is looking very handsome this day! Keep on going Wilf!

With love from your Canadian pals,
Dianna along with Tor, Willow and Tucker
