Deep and calm .

Bright but chill. The geraniums surviving if not thriving . The lawn tractor delivered back after three weeks in the workshop. Angus heads off for a celebratory grass trim . After twenty metres the machine emits a loud bang, then stops. A wisp of oily smoke traces its way delicately into the air. Angus kicks the tyres. Wilf christens them . The machine remains immovable.

The camera function on the i-Phone stops working . 15 calls back to the support centre. Each time a helpful voice asks " Have you tried turning it off and then turning it back on again ? ". Detecting the growing tetchiness in my voice ' the font 'suggests the quest for a solution be left to another day . Angus goes to bed determined that his future won't be Orange .

Wilf sleeps for most of the day. A different type of sleep now. Deep , calm , restful . His breathing untoubled . In the morning he's in exactly the same place he went to sleep in eight hours before . The sort of secure canine slumber that says ' My soul is from elsewhere , I'm sure of that , and I intend to end up there '.

  2. Oh, poor Angus ! No solution, sorry...
That's the type of restful sleep, we all wish to Wilfee, when he'll decide time is arrived.
Hope it will be the latest as possible...
I wish you three, a peaceful and lovely Wednesday. Bisous à mon tendre Wilfee.

  9. Sorry to hear of the mower and phone troubles! Perhaps a shopping trip is in order for a new mower and phone? Or just a trip to the bakery might be just the answer! Speaking of trips, this will be my last check in until April 3rd. We are taking the newly turned 16 year old in our house on a cruise for his birthday. We shall be thinking of Wilf whilst we slide through the warm Caribbean waters. Keep on going Wilf, we shall catch up in April!!

With love from your Canadian pals,
Dianna along with Tor, Willow and Tucker

    1. Ina - Orange is one of Europes largest cellular providers. They have an advertising slogan that goes ' the futures brighter with Orange '. Having spent a day on the phone to them, with no progress, Angus is determined to change his phone company . His future won't be Orange .

  14. Kicking and christening the mower didn't work? Hmmmmm. Have you tried the original man tool technique...slapping it repeatedly with your hand?
Good luck with that infernal machine.
    The iPhone, not so sure.

Refreshing, restorative sleep. Just what Wilf needs. Just what we all need.

  19. Technology - 2; Angus - 0. Hope both machines are working better now. The Orange reference alludes us, though. Is it at all similar to seeing red?

So glad Wilf is enjoying so many peaceful days. May there be many more.

Been watching the siege? standoff? in Toulouse on tv. Hope they can wait him out and that he doesn't have any explosives in the apt. Guessing that, just as it would have been in the U.S., until he actually shot the first soldier, he had not committed a crime so even though French intelligence was apparently aware of him, they had no legal grounds to hold him. Pity.
