  2. Lovely photos of Wilf - I wonder if he is the most photographed and admired dog in the world.

I like the concept of roses and thorns, a bit like the idea of a glass half full, which I try to adopt but sometimes it's not so easy. I will add the roses to my repertoire of Wilf's memorable sayings !!

  12. I adore Wilf and his PONders. I have missed reading Wilf's journal for a several weeks due to traveling and the bustle of the holidays. A rarity for me, as I tune in faithfully for a guaranteed smile and to witness that ever present ray of hope. When I realized it, I had a lump in my throat as I sat down and typed in the blog address, accompanied by a brief wave of panic. Then the sight of your beautiful furry boy sitting happily in the sunshine, so contented and so alive, truly made my heart sing!

Our almost 11 year old, frail and precious Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier has lost her hearing this week. She looks a lot like Wilf. Due to a congenital disorder, we were told by 3 different Veterinarians, before she turned 1, she would live a short and possibly painful life. Her breeder "replaced" her with another wheaten puppy, her now 10 year old guardian and sometimes bossy little sister, ...and we were told "We could do what we wanted with the first dog"... Since she was a cherished member of our family, a little over a decade ago, we set forth on a journey with her that has been pure joy, and with each major obstacle, she has taught us what patience and love and hope is truly made of.

So, our girl not only looks like Wilf, she shares his spirit. I find such comfort in knowing others, like us, have had such blessings on this earth.

Happy 2012 to you dear Wilf, Mr. Mongoose and 'The Font".

    xo
