Invisibility cloak - on .

Time for Wilfs routine , fortnightly , undercarriage wash . To put it delicately , the flow is strong but the aim is poor . By the end of every second week his paws and nether regions are beginning to develop a senior dog smell . While I run the bath he segues into his invisibility act . Cleverly , he hides himself under the library table . This is a position that requires me to get down on my hands and knees to coax him out . It also means that it's physically impossible to develop the leverage needed to pick him up . Finally , with the aid of a piece of roast chicken , he's extracted and carried into the bathroom . He gets another piece of roast chicken as a reward after the event . The worldly wisdom of an old dog . " It's better to burn out than fade away " .

  1. Oh the old 'hiding under the library table to get delicious roast chicken' trick, huh?! Yes, my dog clearly reads the same owner training manual.

Good to hear that Wilf is sweet smelling again.

There's a whole new fringe thing going on today, Wilf!

    x (for Wilf!)

  3. I note Wilf's long fringe and then remember that the poor chap cannot see anyway. As for senior dog smell, funny I just trimmed the fur around Bertie's 'outflow pipe', last night, my nose having told me that this is not exclusively a problem with older chaps!
    Cheers! Gail.

  5. Maybe he doesn't dislike the bath all that much. Maybe he's just found a clever way to get more chicken☺

  6. We don't think Wilf is blind at all, he just needs a headband or a barette on the top of his furry little head! Such a cute little guy, go for the chicken Wilfie-protein is good for you!

  7. Oh, we know about hiding places at bathtime so very well! The first one isn't hard to get, but after that, the other three become invisible in different places, too!

I don't suppose that telling him Kelly will think he smells fabulous would help?

  9. Wilf's haircut reminds me of early Ringo Starr!
What is it with dogs and baths? Most don't mind jumping in to a pond, but they hide the minute a bath is drawn for them!

  10. Very familiar. Edward hides underneath the piano.
But he likes being blow dried. That's my job.

  11. I've had to do the same thing a time or two with our crew--It was so much easier to crawl under a table to get something when I was ten...

  13. From the photos, I thought that Wilf ascribed to the view that if he couldn't see you due to his fur bangs over his eyes, then you couldn't see him either! Great photos!

I also love your term "undercarriage wash"!
