White shutters , green windows .
After what seems like an eternity the freshly painted shutters are safely up . Now the process of painting the windows begins . To our surprise the immensely tall painter doesn't use a ladder to work on the first floor woodwork . Instead he just opens the windows and clambers out onto the ledge . " Are you comfortable up there ? " , ' the font ' asks . " Just fine " comes the carefree reply . Angus quickly checks the accident section of the household insurance policy .
Up at five this morning to get ' the font ' off to the airport . A full weeks French language course in the middle of nowhere . A flight to Rennes and then three hours in a rental car . This leaves Wilf and yours truly in charge of the kitchen for the next six days . As we head home the family fellow has a look on his face that seems to say " let's get the sausages on . Opportunity comes but it does not linger " .

And homemade croissants too! :)
ReplyDeleteI think you owe it to Wilf to have sausages and bacon at least once a day, a good recipe to avoid separation anxiety.
ReplyDeleteOooooh the Font arrived at Rennes airport !!! Just an hour and she will be here, in my own home, in front of the seaside. I believe she is in Morbihan, or Finistere, lovely places too. How much i would like to see her and talk, in french, about Wilfee.
ReplyDeleteSo it means too, a week between men !
Have a beautiful Saturday Angus, give my beloved Wilfee lots and lots of bisous. AmitiƩs to you.
Live the opportunities!!! Love from Southern Italy Susanne Daisy and Foxiie
ReplyDeleteAnyone placing bets on an interruption - with an improbable cause - to the window painting?
ReplyDeleteI'm with Bouncing Bertie--I'm also wondering if they'll be an interruption, it just seems to be going so well! I'm sure Wilf will make sure all goes well in the kitchen for the 6 days, if not there's always coconut ice cream and that amazing bakery!
ReplyDeleteYou two will end up looking like a sausage come the end of this week!!!!
ReplyDeleteWill you publish the week's menus for us???
ReplyDeletexxx Joan
Don't forget the coconut ice cream! Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Love,
Janelle and Maggie Mae
Ooh, you boys have fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the shutters.
Come over and watch the video up now of Edward. See if the resemblance holds when he's moving!
Happy Saturday!
two batchelors again! who needs gourmet meals when there're croissants, sausages and coconut ice cream? it even sounds good to me put all together!
ReplyDeletelove the way the new shutters look. well worth the looooooooooooong wait.
the pics of wilfee are especially sweet today. but i love it when, like yesterday, he just decides to take a break while chewing on the hide, yet doesn't want to give it up! lol.
cheers and hugs you two,
tammy j
Oh no! The Font is away! Best to watch Wilf's diet. He'll miss the absent flock member and that, combined with dietary changes, could precipitate another diabetes related illness. We want you boys to have fun, lots. But take care with the snacks! Love to all.
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for the next installment on the painting saga. My bet is that the ladies will show up with more fabric choices to be made now that 'the font' is away, too!
ReplyDeleteI predict much feasting on comfort food this week! Happy eating, Wilf!
Ohh, I am having breakfast, dog and house envy. What a lovely life you are leading.
ReplyDeleteSmooches to Wilf.

Check that insurance carefully, especially on a rickety farm house that has had tile problems and holes in ceilings.....
ReplyDeleteLooks nice and fresh, though, we liked the other colour.

De Gaulle the painter must be quite a contortionist, to hang outside the windows to paint. Are you going to end up with discrete thumb prints on the paintwork, like the tomb ceiling of Nefertari?
ReplyDeleteHope Wilfie has a smooth week with no episodes.
