What's next ?

Wilf is enjoying life. Having a house full of family and guests is pure, unallayed heaven for a Polish Lowland Sheepdog. So many people to herd , activities to oversee, and places to explore.

From breakfast through to dinner he thrives on the constant hope that something tasty and illicit will fall from the table and onto the floor in front of him - with the college dorm eating habits of the younger family members he knows that some croissant crumbs will eventually come his way. At night he goes rug surfing along the corridor. With plenty of willing playmates Wilfs attitude is ' Take what you can get - you can never, ever rug surf too much'. Happy, sweet, exhausted sheepdog sleep usually occurs around about midnight.

In the morning, batteries recharged, it's up bright and early for a morning walk past the church with me and then back under the breakfast table in readiness for the first croissant eaters. His transparent, joyful , guileless antics make me laugh all day, every day.

  5. Mongoose, where is that breakfast room? I ask only because there is a menu with prices against one wall and that seems a brilliant idea for teaching college-age family members a lesson in real economics. Is that a photo of you against the wall as well?

  6. Having a house filled with friends and family is joyous for all social animals - humans, too. Hanging out and sampling breakfast treats is a passion.

  7. I love your last line. I could say exactly the same thing about my R.

When we have family gatherings at our house, my dogs are exactly the same way. The kids, however, are kind of young (5 and 7), and are occasionally mean to the dogs, with dire consequences following from us and their parents. So, our dogs look for fun and crumbs, but with a touch of trepidation. Don't worry - we supervise as closely as we can!

    Enjoy your visitors!

  10. I love that last line! It's so very true!

I don't know what poor Morgan would do if there were more than two people to keep track of here! That's her full time job!

  11. Is that your home or a cafe? I thought initially it was your home and that was a picture of you on the left. But upon enlarging the it to see you better, I noticed a menu against the wall.

I enjoy Wilf's antics too! My chihuahuas make me laugh every day too!

  13. Dog economics - The number of smiles, laughs and memories created always exceeds the cost of the dog.

Wilf obviously practices this theory by creating human smiles (yours and worldwide) out of crumbs, hall rugs and taking you outside for your daily exercise. What Riley gives me (through his daily antics) is also beyond measure.
