For a reason .

We drive into town to find a coachload of holiday makers disgorging themselves onto the market square . Noisy, happy and crimplened . By the time Wilf has been unloaded from the back of the car all the seats at the cafe are gone . So too are the croissants . Wilf puts on his best Mr.Frump face . " Things just ain't as they should be " .

Home to find ' the font ' getting ready to prepare roti de cabillaud au bacon et olives for lunch . Wilf sits and stares. His PON telepathic powers letting it be known that he's been hard done by in the croissant department . A slice of bacon is cooked for him. That, and a kiss on the head from 'the font' and normal service is soon resumed . As any PON will tell you , " Remember : Whatever happens, happens for a reason " .

  1. Bacon makes everything better. They should make Band-aids out of bacon!

  7. A beautiful day in perspective ! The Font seems to be the best "cordon bleu" of Southern France ! Even the titles of her recipes are delicious.
    Enjoy this day Angus' family.
Bisous to my beloved Wilfee, and amitiƩs to you Angus, and the Font.

  8. We have a new furry friend. Reading about Wilf helped to pave the way. Prince - three year old pre-owned tri coloured Cocker Spaniel - says Bonjour to Wilf, he also had a bacon breakfast, so all is well with the world.

  14. you boys gotta love the font! she knows how to make it all better. the table on the terrace is simply beautiful and perfect pictures of wilf.
maybe the font could open a petite cooking school for only a month or two out of the year! they could stay in nearby villages and you and wilfee could reap the rewards. a VERY SMALL cooking school. we wouldn't want to upset madame!
    hugs all around, tammy

  16. Hmmm... Bacon... Croissants... Yeah, Wilf, I think you made out quite well! I don't think that there's anything that 'the font' can't fix, though!

  17. Poor Wilf, that bakery really needs to step it up and make sure they ALWAYS have a croissant for him! If they see they're starting to get low, they need to set one aside for him. Just sayin'...

I'm glad he got a piece of bacon and a kiss from the font. Hopefully that helped make up for the bakery mishap.

  19. Angus, again, I'm late getting here, but I didn't want my day to end without thanking you for your kind comments on the loss of Hamlet--And you were right, the quote from Hamlet fit perfectly.

Your post from today also fits perfectly as we are facing the loss of another one of our dogs, and I try to remember that "whatever happens, happens for a reason " .
