Twenty to the dozen.

A gentle, soft breeze greeted us as we ventured off on the morning walk. For the first time this year there was no need for a warming jacket or jumper - shirt sleeve weather has at last arrived. The even better news is that Digby's sore hip definitely improves when the cold and damp of winter is replaced by the heat of the new season. He scampered along next to his big brother , little legs pumping away twenty to the dozen, for the first three hundred yards before electing to sit out the rest of the expedition.

Back at the house the tiler is doing something unspecified and unscheduled to the floor of the kitchen while the English joiner and his Irish mate are installing the cupboards in the dog room. Wilf and Digby will soon have a special storage area just for them where toys, grooming brushes, towels and the rest of the paraphenalia of dog life can be stored. This should bring an end to the mad morning rush of trying to find harnesses and leads that somehow manage to move and hide themselves overnight.

We're hoping that the weather will hold and that it will stay warm enough to have lunch and possibly dinner on the outside terrace. This years long extended winter is finally drawing to a close. The Wahl clippers beckon.

  1. It's nice to know it is warm somewhere. I love the snow but now we have wind, which I abhor in any season.

  2. Short sleeves! Oh my, you are lucky. I'm thrilled to hear that Digby likes the warm weather and can frolic with his brother in it. That's great news!

  3. Yep, the seasons are changing! Here in the south the big tree in our park has transformed into a shade of yellow. We know what that means! urrrgh!
Anyjoy your sunshine and warmer weather. You guys never seem to stop building!

  4. We're just excited to hit forty degrees today! I think I shed a tear when I got to the part about shirt sleeves. I can't wait to be able to eat outdoors, but it promises to be a while away for us! How will the boyz feel about the appearance of the clippers?

  5. Wow -- and here we are in sunny South Florida with temps in the 40s - 50s (F). Perhaps that would be shirt-sleeve weather elsewhere. Here it's Brrrrr.

And, as noted on one of our recent posts, our Barkalot Boyz have already been shorn of their winter coats. Fortunately they don't seem to mind as much as we do.

    Wirey woofs to you all!

  6. ooo, mr. wilf and mr. digby! how exciting that you're going to get your own toy room!
    enjoy the warm weather.

  7. I'm glad the warmer weather is somewhere! It is certainly not in Virginia!!

Are the Wahl Clippers for you or the Boyz? :-) Our Wheaten Terrier is going to the groomer for his "spring do" on Wednesday--He doesn't know it yet...

    Have a wonderful weekend!
