As she was leaving the house Madame Bay informed us that we live in a UFO hotspot . Another of those gems of local information for which our saintly cleaning lady is famous. It seems that our little patch of paradise reports more strange objects in the sky than any other part of France . " Nothing to do with being an hour from the Airbus factory in Toulouse ? " I suggested. ' Mais Non ! ' came the emphatic reply. ' Why, Delphine ( her eldest daughter ) had been woken up at four o'clock one morning by strange lights in the garden . And M'Ongoose the intruders were completely silent ! ' The existence of extra terrestrial life proved beyond any reasonable doubt . My sympathy lies with Delphines sleep interrupted husband - but that was diplomatically left unsaid.
Dicussing the failings of the French rugby team with the owner of the bar this morning I suddenly heard Wilf issue a quiet bark. Something he never does in public. The peroxide waitress had collected all the crunchy crumbs from the mornings croissant delivery and was drizzling them slowly into Wilfs open mouth. Faced with a culinary treat like that he simply couldn't keep quiet. Canine sherbet. Life just keeps on getting better. I could have sworn he was smiling when he clambered up into the car.
We each say thank you in our own way. I hope you're giving someone a large bottle of peroxide for Christmas! :)ReplyDelete
I second that - large bottle of peroxide should be first on the Christmas list this year! Great to hear Mr Wilf is such good spirits!!ReplyDelete
Ah yes the UFO's well that's kind of fun to think about seeing. Alaskan salmon we have that here smoked. My husband smokes up pounds of it every summer! Wilf can always generate the treats, he's just a magnet to them.ReplyDelete
He is smiling in his photos this morning, and I am smiling at all of yours. Hope the house is in order when the gannets arrive for the holiday.ReplyDelete
UFO's, huh. Could explain a lot!ReplyDelete
All Wilf needs is a divan so his hand maiden can feed him in luxury.
XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Oh boy, how i would like to be with you two in the morning to have the chance to give Wilfee his part of croissant. I really can imagine the scene with the peroxyde woman. And the "smile" on Wilfee's face in the car.ReplyDelete
Love the second photo with a leave hanging from Wilfee's chin, soooo cute !
Cuddles and bisous sweet boy. Enjoy this new day.
I agree with 'scotsmad' that your being in a UFO hot-spot could explain a lot. But I've thought of your place as more the Bermuda Triangle because workers seem to come to your house and disappear and are never heard from again...ReplyDelete
I'm sure Wilf was smiling when he got in the car this morning, I am just reading about it!
We bet Wilf thinks croissant crumbs from the air are far more interesting than UFO's.ReplyDelete
I know Wilf was smiling - he does so often in his pictures.ReplyDelete
Being fed crunchy croissant crumbs seems like a perfect way to start the day, that and seeing Wilf's smiling face. :)ReplyDelete
Blessings and Love,
Janelle and Maggie Mae
I'd say you found the most perfect place in the world for Wilf to live, especially in his golden years! Even if it is infested with UFOs and extraterrestrials!ReplyDelete
I bet that Wilf was smiling! What a treat... Wilf has everyone at his beck and call!ReplyDelete
Be careful of the UFOs! Denver actually had a measure on the ballot to create a UFO commission in November. With all the budget problems, I had to laugh to think that they'd spend money on such a ridiculous thing. Believe it or not, 14% of voters supported it! Astounded.
Alors! Alaskan salmon est bien! Especially fine with Champagne for optimum UFO sightings!ReplyDelete
i hope you get to see a UFO! of course, Wilf was smiling.ReplyDelete
Why does it surprise me that the delectable Delphine should be well acquainted with UFO's?ReplyDelete
Good on ya Wilf! Keep those crumbs coming...hopefully a UFO or two will pass by your place and offer some extraterrestrial treats as well!ReplyDelete
Keep on going Wilf!
Your pals from the frozen north called Canada,
Dianna along with Tor, Willow and Tucker
oh we so wish we had a peroxided waitress to rain treats on us - nice one wilf - loves and licks xxxReplyDelete
Wilf... you certainly live in an interesting place. Love the way your Dad observes everything and reports in such detail! Sounds like you scored again - good for you!ReplyDelete
Hugs and Love xoxoxoxo
Sammie (the girl dog!) and Avalon
The Scottish salmon we had in Nova Scotia was the best smoked salmon I ever ate. Not sure if Wilf would trade croissant crumbs for salmon -- but I would!!!ReplyDelete
Our momma said that she would like some smoked salmon and a croissant, please! Us - we'll sit next to Wilf with our mouths open like baby birds waiting for a few crumbs.ReplyDelete
havent you snow yet angus?ReplyDelete
