Product placement - Wilf style .
Off bright and early to Toulouse airport. Family to drop off and friends from Texas to pick up . In between an hour to wait . Wilf gives me his ' are you thinking what I'm thinking ? ' look . He heads out across the car park , nose down, PON radar on , carefully skirting cars and lamp posts until he miraculously arrives at the McDonalds . How does he do it ?
An old PON knows how soon ' not now ' can become ' never '. Two slivers of quarter pounder in the same week . Now that's something worth living for.

Amazing how an animal who cannot see does so much better than a human, it has to be the nose LOL Diane
ReplyDeleteI have learned so much from the "Amazing Wilf", patience and perseverence are helpful, but the look with those eyes always gets you what you want! Way to go Wilfie, twice in one week!
ReplyDeleteOur dogs could find a McDonald's hidden about anywhere! lol I'm glad to see Wilf still has his priorities in order!

Some time back, when Wilf had first lost his sight, a visitor said that a dog was all about "the nose". Wilf's nose has proves that to be fact. Enjoy your tasty treat, dear boy. Lots of love to all.
ReplyDeleteP.S. With his happy, casual air and relaxed gait, Wilf looks like any other senior off to McDonalds to enjoy forbidden fare.
Wilf is smart, that's how he does it! That, and his nose works overtime.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he got a little bit of a burger. I don't know why but I just love McDonald's burgers. There's just something about them that tastes so good!
Angus, I'm happy to report that Edward did fine at the vets. It was a slab fracture of the back tooth. Pretty nasty. He's beside me at the moment, sleeping off the morphine. Chicken and rice for dinner. Scrambled eggs for breakfast. Good boy.
ReplyDeleteWilf is wonderfully confident now, as we knew he would be once he got accustomed to the blindness. Glad he had such a good outing and a good day. Bet he enjoys all the attention from the constant stream of guests, too.

Smart, clever Wilf!! That nose can detect a McDonald's miles away! We are back from holidays and just catching up on all of Wilf's adventures over the last week. Glad to see things are holding their own. Keep on going Wilf, handsome boy!
ReplyDeleteWith love from your Canadian pals,
Dianna along with Tor, Willow and Tucker
Wilf we hope you opted for the "Go large" option. :-)
ReplyDeleteSmiley Wilf knows HIS way around... love from Southern Italy Susanne, DAisy and Foxiie
ReplyDeleteother body parts may fail, but a dog's nose never stops working! my old dog whitney was 17 years old, completely deaf and blind, but she always knew when a can of tuna (her favorite) had been opened. keep enjoying those quarter pounders, wilf! :)
