A quiet day. Old dog heaven. Wilf was happy to laze around the house or sit in the sun dappled courtyard guarding. Excitement was provided by the arrival of the post lady, who received a bark, and by a walk across the village green to say hello to the mayor. A leisurely one hundred yards in five minutes. In Wilfs view " there are no shortcuts to any place worth going ". How true.
Good going there Wilf glad to see you are still going no matter what the distance.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful "Wilfism" :) Happy weekend to all of you!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Love,
Janelle and Maggie Mae
I agree! The fun is all in the journey! What a great thought to ponder. :)
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting that Wilf isn't a puppy. Wilf sits in the yard - Jack wants to sit in front of the garage door!
ReplyDeleteCan't argue with that one! Here's to a lazy, pain free weekend for our hero!
ReplyDeleteVery true!
ReplyDeleteLooks like your weather is cooperating compared to the rest of the world.....snow.....flood....fire....etc.
XXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Quiet days are nice. I wish I had more of them!
ReplyDeleteWilf is so cute :-)
Quiet days are the best days sometimes.
ReplyDeleteEdward has lolled by the fire all day.
Who doesn't enjoy a quiet, laid back day!
ReplyDeleteA bark! We've often wondered how your voice sounded.
Love and prayers from us to you.
Quiet days in the courtyard guarding his loved ones. Many more happy quiet days to you, Wilf!
ReplyDeleteYes, Wilf has got it right, it's all about the journey not the destination.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear the post lady warranted a bark.
Have a great weekend. It's wet and very windy here in South East UK, hope you keep your dappled sunshine.
One of the best lessons I've learned from Petey who, as a male dog, must stop and sniff and properly christen every vertical item in his path, is that it is okay to slow down and savor the journey, rather than just rush to the destination.
ReplyDeleteAs always, Wilf shows wisdom beyond his years. Enjoy your day little philosopher!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, Wilf has it absolutely correct. It is not the destination that counts, but the journey.
ReplyDeleteWilf teaches us important lessons every day. I love the thought of him lying in the sun. (in fact, I'd love to lie in the sun right now!).
ReplyDeleteWhat wisdom comes from old dogs!
ReplyDeleteYou are just too cute on the photos sweet boy. Love you so so much. Enjoy the sun !
ReplyDeleteBisous, calins and looooove.

Life's a journey, not a destination. So no need to hurry along.
ReplyDeleteWell pawed! Life is not a race. It is an experience; you are making all of it that you can. And you share so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteKisses,
