Three whole months since the tumour was first diagnosed. The three days promised turned into a laughter filled ninety. To celebrate, a muddy, life affirming walk with Wilf across the fields. Gentle sunshine, hovering hawks and the sound of the stream our only companions. After fifteen minutes of nose down exploration he's exhausted, settling down to dream of deer and fox scents in a warm spot amid the long grass . Content and immovable. When I return with the 4x4 to collect him he wakes up, chuckling PON wisdom in his eyes - " Impossible replaced by I'm possible ".
This is proving to be the tenderest of journeys. Wilf has absolute trust in the simple promise - no pain .
These are beautiful and blessed days that you have been given.

ReplyDeleteyup. I was told 6 months for Maggie for liver cancer. Six months turned into 3.5 years. No pain. The last week was difficult for her but the rest of those 3.5 years were pain free, quality and lots of walks and adventures.

Anything is possible when there's love. May he has many many more years of grace. My love to the funny furry fella. He can be quite a joker i am sure. With a face like that, there's always smiles wherever he goes.

The days may be winding down to a precious few, but each day is still a miracle. You and Wilf - and all of us - got another Fall, another Christmas, one little miracle after another. Can't ask for better than a miracle. Well, one can ask, but one can't expect more than a miracle.

About Grgich Hills Fume Blanc. We discovered it when we visited the winery and tasted the Fume Blanc 2004 -- still our favorite, although long gone. As for the French and their disdain of American wines, I guess they never got over the "Paris Tasting of 1976!" Tant pis!
We always check in to see Wilf every day and enjoy seeing his gorgeous face. So photogenic and cheeky.
ReplyDeleteLong may we be able to continue our daily routine.
Molly, Taffy and Monty
We love you wilf
