Slowing down.

Wilf started off gamely enough towards Kelly's house but after fifty yards decided he'd had enough. Time for a precarious, back scratching, roll on the grass by the drainage ditch and then a beeline for home and a doze. A definite slowing down these last three days.

To the garden centre for some lemon trees for the terrace and some box for the planters by the front door. While I chose and paid for the plants Wilf went off to investigate the olive and peach trees. Thankfully, no one seemed to notice him quickly sprinkling the roots with Eau de Wilf. His attitude to gardening : " If dandelions were hard to grow, they'd be most welcome on any lawn ".

  4. Maybe Wilf thinks that Kelly should be willing to at least meet him half-way.

I agree with the thoughts on gardening too!

  7. Good morning handsome Wilf! Love the photos this morning. What fun to have lots of new trees to christen, Angus always seems to have just the right thing for you. "Eau de Wilf" indeed, almost christened my screen with coffee.

  8. Eau de Wilf! Thanks for my morning giggle!

Kelly will be there for a while, Wilf! Don't worry!

I am betting your garden would make me decide to just give mine up completely!

  10. I LOVE Wilf's idea about dandelions! He is so, so right - spot on☺ And, Wilf, you must leave your calling card when you visit - that is the polite thing to do.

  12. It has been way too long since we visited - the pawrents' lives are changing with Dad's retirement and there's been lots of work and cleaning out and stuffs. We did look through several back posts - the rhythms of daily life there (Mme. Bay and her outfit (!), Ends of croissants, the stocking up of wine for Easter and so much more...) seem to gentle to us. Love those lemons - know they'll look great on your terrace! Love your euphemism: Eau de Wilf - Hee hee! Have a good weekend!

  14. I have a few too many dandelions if Wilf is in need of them. My neighbor told me I should cut them up and put them in my salad. No thank you. I'd let Wilf christen them though.

  16. There is something so wonderfully elegant about lemon trees in containers. And the lovely scent on the air: just heaven.

You are so right about the dandelions, wonderful Wilf. It's really all in the way we look at things. Our love to you and your family.

  18. That's exactly how I felt after my tennis match this morning. Although, I don't think I would look as cute rolling around on my back at the baseline.

  19. Eau de Wilf!!! How perfect! Even though Wilf is slowing down, he still enjoys the simple joys of living and of sharing his life with you. You and he are truly blessed....blessed every minute of every precious day you spend together. I know you cherish the time and you have taught us all to slow down and savor life. There is so much to enjoy if we just take the time, as you have, to enjoy every "morsel".
Much love to you, Wilf and the font,

  21. Weeds, including dandelions for some, are just plants that wind up in places humans have decided are not where they want them to be....

Scritches to Wilf!!! We see his new lightness.
