Shaggy dog.

The clocks went forward an hour this morning. This loss of an hour of precious, hard earned sleep was a concept that Wilf and Digby found difficult to understand. The two of them made it out of the front door but then promptly slumped down for a refreshing doze on the lawn with their favourite toy. They increasingly act like two grumpy old colonels if their routine is tinkered with.

Boy, are these dogs shaggy. Yesterday afternoon Wilf was coaxed onto the grooming table for another bout with the electric clippers. At the end of ten minutes of canine fractiousness I had collected a waste paper basket sized pile of hair in front of me . Frustratingly, despite the removal of an ever increasing amount of fur Wilf continues to look as unkempt and shaggy as ever. Surely it can't grow back that quickly ! A svelte dog lies under there somewhere.

  2. Hee hee hee! Isn't it funny how much hair one dog can possess! I hope you get him looking fine before your clippers give out!

  3. At this rate, you'll have him all clipped in time for winter :) We always put our dogs' shedded fur outside for the birds to use in the nests. When we check the nestboxes the following fall, the birds have labrador fur woven into their nests!

  4. I don't know. I think they CAN grow back that quickly. Seems like I am trimming the fur over Edward's eye every other day. Thank God they don't shed!

We changed the clock a couple of weeks ago and the kids are still not quite used to it. They always think they are eating dinner early, which of course is a treat to them.

  5. What expressions in those photos!!! No need for words.

We went through the clock change a bit ago -- and once our systems readjusted, having more daylight at the end of the day makes for lovely walks. So we're OK with it. Once of course we persuaded our folks not to linger too long in the am.

  6. you'll get them trimmed, slowly but surely. :)
just like KB, we de-fur our dogs outside so the birds can have the fluff. we've also discovered that the rabbits like to take it to their hutches as well.
